However, as was explained in our Nov
2, 2018 letter due to a IT system issue the DTSC has not issued the biennial report for this location. Our vendor Verisk 3E
has contacted to the DTSC to confirm this information that can be reached at BRSStaff dtsc.ca.Rov.
Regarding to your questions regarding to the "Weekly StrongPak Accumulation Bin" observed during your inspection, on
our November 2, 2018 letter we explained that these items are evaluated on a weekly basis by pharmacy personnel.
Upon evaluation, they are either packaged for transport to CVS's reverse distribution vendor,or managed though the
store's Hazardous Waste Program. Disposition direction is provided by the electronic scanning system, based on the Rx
Returns Process logic, which is attached for your reference.Colleagues are required to scan the items in order to adjust
inventory and obtain disposition guidance. We have confirmed with pharmacy colleagues at Store 3908 that once
scanned and evaluated, all non-creditworthy prescription pharmaceuticals, including, for example, dropped, expired and
loose pills, are managed by Stericycle through the CVS Health Hazardous Waste Program. Reverse Distribution is utilized
only for non-expired products in original manufacturer packaging and recalled items. All items which were observed
during your inspection have now been processed and the expired, damaged and loose pills were placed in the properly
labeled hazardous waste tote.
Thanks,
Adriana Morales I Senior Environmental Specialist, Corporate Environmental
c 401-644-8333 1 f 401-429-6507
CVS Health
CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE:This communication and any attachments may contain confidential and/or privileged information for the use of the designated recipients named
above. If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that you have received this communication in error and that any review, disclosure, dissemination,
distribution or copying of it or its contents is prohibited.
