QOdate: 16 February 1987 <br /> t®: Permitting Officer, San Joaquin <br /> Irrigation District <br /> from: Gary Runnells, Geologist, Environmental <br /> Science and Engineering, Inc. <br /> subject: Well Permits for the Monitor Well Network at Sharpe <br /> •1 Army Depot, Lathrop, CA <br /> A technical plan for the ground water investigation at Sharpe Army Depot is <br /> on file with the RWQCB in Sacramento. Rick Azevedo (916-361-5672) is the RWQCB <br /> officer for this project. The plan is entitled Remedial Investigation/Feasibility <br /> Study at Sharpe Army Depot, Final Technical Plan A005. Basically, using a <br /> phased approach, between 23-43 ground water monitoring wells will be installed <br /> in "clusters" of 3 wells each. At each cluster, three wells will be installed <br /> at 3 different depths from approximately 30 ft to approximately 140 ft, with <br /> the bottom 10' being screened (see construction diagram) . <br /> Phase I will include installation of the following well clusters: 503, <br /> 507, 508, 509, 510, 511, and 518 (diagram on permit application) . The results <br /> of chemical analysis of samples from Phase I wells will be used to determine <br /> the need for additional wells. The purpose of this program is to determine the <br /> extent of TCE contamination in the ground water. <br /> ESEENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE <br /> AND ENGINEERING, INC. <br />
