Health effects as a result of exposure to the substance <br /> PEL range from acute to chronic. <br /> Has been <br /> established. Potential acute health effects include irritation to eyes, in the case of ingestion, and irritating to the skin upon <br /> -ACGIH contact, by inhalation. It is slightly dangerous to dangerous in the case of skin contact (permeator) <br /> Threshold Potential chronic health effects include irritating to the eyes upon ingestion (very dangerous), irritating to the skin <br /> Limit Value upon inhalation (very dangerous), and in the event that it permeates the skin, it can be slightly dangerous to <br /> (TLV): 40 dangerous. The carcinogenic, mutinogenic and teratogenic effects are currently unknown, but the substance is <br /> ppm (TWA) known to be toxic to the lungs, nervous system, and mucous membranes. The toxic effects on the reproductive <br /> organs are currently unknown. Repeated or prolonged exposure to the substance may produce target organ <br /> damage and repeated or prolonged inhalation of the vapors may lead to chronic respiratory irritation. <br /> MtBE is slightly flammable to flammable in the presence of an open flame or spark. In the event of a fire, use a dry <br /> material to absorb the substance, do not use water as it is very soluble and easily dispersed. <br /> Benzene 1 ppm Benzene is a common constituent of gasoline and other petroleum product materials. It is a clear, colorless liquid, <br /> Cal/OSHA with a characteristic odor. The flash point is listed at 12 degrees Fahrenheit. Ingestion or inhalation causes <br /> TWA irritation of mucous membranes, restlessness,convulsions, excitement or depression and possible death by <br /> 5 ppm respiratory failure.
