RIM IMPT, k1191M, amArkst <br /> 10.0 EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN <br /> This company's policy is to evacuate their employees from the danger area when an <br /> emergency occurs and does not permit any of their employees to assist in handling <br /> the emergency and therefore, in accordance with the exception provision of Title 8 <br /> Section 5192 (1) (B) provides the following emergency action plan required by Title 8 <br /> Section 3220. <br /> Emergency Action Plan <br /> • This Emergency Action Plan will be discussed during the Health and Safety <br /> Briefing conducted at the beginning of work activities. During this meeting, <br /> emergency response duties will be delegated. <br /> • An emergency is defined as an occurrence that results or is likely to result in an <br /> uncontrolled release, which may cause high levels of exposure to toxic <br /> substances, or which poses danger to employees and requires immediate <br /> attention. Examples of emergency situations could include earthquakes, <br /> tornadoes, explosions, large fires, and uncontrolled releases from underground <br /> storage tanks or underground utilities. <br /> • In the event of an emergency on site, it is the foreman's duty, or in the absence <br /> of the foreman, the first person who recognizes the emergency situation, to <br /> notify all employees on site using an acceptable alarm. Acceptable alarms <br /> include a distinctive car horn, air horn, or bullhorn. <br /> • Upon notification all personnel are instructed to immediately proceed to the <br /> meeting point using the excavation routes outlined on the site map. Providing <br /> for evacuation routes and meeting points as shown on the site map. <br /> • If work is conducted at an operating station, the closest person to any <br /> emergency cut-off switches should activate this cut off system, if this person is <br /> able to without endangering his/her health. <br /> • After evacuation, emergency services shall be notified using 9-1-1. Immediately <br /> upon evacuation, a headcount will be performed to account for all individuals. At <br /> this time, any employees that have been assigned rescue and/or medical duties <br /> may perform them. Providing that their rescue duties will not further endanger <br /> the safety and health of the rescuer. <br />
