knalo'9ies
sati : sr c s lit Bulkhead it Boots
Non-Fueling Applications
It is advisable to perform a site survey before attempting to order materials. Attached is a site survey form that
may be used to assist in the selection of the proper repair boots. Care should be taken to accurately count the
number of penetrations and appropriate interference data.
Caution: Read all MSDS sheets prior to using the DGK(Zip-Tite),DBC(Cleaner)and DST (Seal-Tito moisture curing
urethane)products. Read about and be comfortable with the use of the products before starting the installation.
Some sites will be encountered where large bulkheads were used to seal penetrations. Typically TCI,APT and Weaver
threaded bulkheads have large footprints. It may be necessary to remove the nuts and cut back excess rubber before
installing the repair boot. The secondary containment pipe should be exposed as well as a portion of the sump wall.
Clean and Dry(if possible)all surfaces to be repaired. Sand all surfaces to remove glare on sump walls. Immediately
before installing split boots spray all surfaces to be bonded with DBC cleaner. Allow surfaces to air dry (l 5 to 30
seconds).
Snap split boots around pipes. Solvent weld the boot together using DGK(Diversified Glue Kit-%ip Tito) and allow to
cure for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Apply the Seal-Tite to the face of the repair boot and sump wall. Spread the Seal-Tite evenly over the surfaces to he
bonded.
Use self drilling stainless tech screws 1 3/"long or longer. Attach repair boot to the sump wall by driving tech screws
through openings provided into the sump wall. Loosly tighten the tech screws. Inject Seal-Tito through fill tube until
product starts to exit the perimeter of the boot. Tighten tech screws but do not strip. Continue to inject Seal-Tice until
the repair boot is completely filled, exiting the fill port. Wipe excess bonder form the perimeter of the repair boot and
cover the heads of the tech screws completely with Seal-Tite. This provides a secondary seal of the tech screw
penetration.
Note:Any moisture curing urethane should work satisfactorily for this type of installation. Moisture curing urethane
such as Bostik 1100FS, Bostik 920 and Weaver'd Seal-7rte are acceptable. Please note, however, that Shell Oil has
rejected the use of such adhesives on their projects. After almost 5 years of experience with these adhesives in fueling
applications, we have determined that better performing products are available that are more suitable, fnr use in fiteling
environments. Refer to Diversified's installation instructions for fueling applications.
Revision 3 3/3103 Diversified Products Mfg LLC–5523 Baggett Marysville Rd.—Oroville,CA 95965 1
WSS Administrative:Ph:530-534-3966,Fx:530-533-3361,Order Entry 530-534-7404,Fx: 888-534-7404
