T10CHN/CAL D ET0/L S <br />The Components of the System <br />rte Fibrelite cover system comprises of four <br />:dividual components. <br />The Cover The Fibrelite composite covers are <br />manufactured by an injection process to provide a <br />composite structure of re-inforced plastic and resin. <br />They comply with the DOT H2O rating for carrying <br />anticipated axle wheel loadings. There are no hinges <br />or moving pans and a clear access opening is <br />provided. <br />A recess can be provided in the surface of the manhole <br />cover for fwng of a grade identification plate in <br />accordance with the proposed API standards. <br />The Frame The spheroidal graphite cast iron <br />frames provide a high tensile strength and clear <br />openings of 35.43' (FL36) or 42.37 (FL42). They <br />incorporate a physical water check to prevent the <br />access of surface water into the sump area. The <br />`-aures are designed to accept either a metal or FRP <br />..;irt to assist with sumplmanhole construction <br />1 Q0 4.MI. o.d C'.a <br />.6 : <br />Handle Formed from 1I/C stainless tubing with <br />alloy casting for the key and a plastic hand grip. <br />Designed in conjunction with the health and safety <br />recommendations. <br />Safety Platform As an optional extra a safety <br />platform can be installed in the access sump. It is <br />designed to allow an improved facility for tank <br />sticking and hose connections. The platform is <br />suspended below grade level and helps to prevent <br />any tendency to lean forward, standing on pipelines <br />or gauge tubes and any possible slips into sump. <br />The safety platform can be lifted out to provide <br />access to the tank manfid. <br />Formed with 1112^ angle section in 1 r/a" mild steel. <br />Frame covered with expanded metal walkway <br />grating. Unit hot dip /galvanised on completion. <br />Injury Free <br />Independent ergonomic tests by the <br />University of Cincinnati August 92 <br />i (avadabfe on request), have shown that <br />the design concept allows personnel of <br />i <br />eimer sex to carry out the <br />removallreplacement of manhole <br />covers in complete safety, whilst <br />in a vertical <br />r <br />position. <br />The risk of injury to the back <br />fingers and toes caused by <br />traditional metal covers no longer <br />exists. <br />Fontes applied to the human body <br />fall within 49% safety factor j <br />` for males and 26% for <br />1 women.
