For proper installation. the Boot size. <br />appropriate size taoncation ternolate should be used for accurate rote drilling. _ <br />Step #1 <br />falcate the center entry point in the <br />flat wall section of me sump case and <br />drill a 5116' hole. Install the Entry <br />Boor 7emptate to the sump oase wall <br />using a 1/4' bolt and nut. Drill out the <br />appropriate bolt hole circle for the <br />size boot to be instaned usinc the <br />same 5/16' drill bit. After drilling <br />remove the template from me sump <br />base wall. <br />Step #3 <br />Install the rubber boot from outside <br />the sump by inserting the studs <br />through the bolt toles. From the <br />inside of the sump. install the com- <br />pression ring over the studs and <br />install nuts by hand. <br />Step #5 <br />Insert the appropriate sized pipe or <br />conduit into the flexible toot from out - <br />sloe of the sump. After the pipe or <br />conouit has been positioned. install <br />the band damp around the boot and <br />tighten to 30 in. lbs. <br />Fastener <br />Entry Boot <br />Template <br />Round Surface installations <br />Flexible Entry Boots may be instafted on <br />round surfaces which nave a radius diame- <br />ter greater than 30'. The installation pro- <br />ceoutres are the same as described above <br />except the 5/16' bolt toles should be made <br />slightly larger after initial drilling. This can <br />be accomplished by moving the 5/16' bit <br />from side to side in each loft hole after the <br />Entry Boot Template has been removed. <br />This will enable ate entry boot stuas to <br />move slightly inward when tightening down <br />the nut fasteners. Tighten down eac n nut <br />it stages so the boa flange and compres. <br />sion ring can evenly conform to ate round- <br />ed surface. <br />Band Clamp <br />Step #2 <br />After the bolt tole ciM. a nas been <br />drilled. drill the entry boo: aoening by <br />using the appropriate size note saw. <br />Atter opening is drilled. clean any <br />rough edges with a razor Knife. <br />Hole Saw <br />Flexible Entry Boots <br />2.38' <br />FES -3050.3-M. 3075.3100 <br />a.114- <br />FES.6150. If a tomue wrench is used. me <br />setting should oe 60 in. lbs. <br />Angled Entries <br />The flexible entry boot is flexible <br />enough to permit angled pipe or con- <br />duit entries up m 30- anote (15- in <br />each direction). Angles greater than <br />30- could prevent the boot trom seal- <br />ing around the pipe or conduit. <br />
