RELAY OUTPUT MODULE <br />DESCRIPTION <br />The TS-ROM2 Relay Output Module is a low cost control <br />module which maybe used with TS -1000 series Tank Sentinel® <br />automatic tank gauge and leak detection consoles. It allows <br />the Tank Sentinel" to disable pumps, operate indicator lights, <br />sound alarms, and perform other control functions in response <br />to alarms conditions. Like all members of the BriteBoxTM <br />expansion module family, the TS-ROM2 contains all the <br />circuits and electrical terminals required to perform its function. <br />The TS-ROM2 is housed in a five inch by seven inch plastic <br />junction box which is mounted in a convenient location near <br />the console. It may be installed when the Tank Sentinel® is <br />originally installed, or added at a later time. The TS-ROM2 is <br />an economical solution to control and alarm problems, and is <br />available in four and eight channel configurations. <br />THEORY OF OPERATION <br />The TS-ROM2 uses miniature electromechanical relays to <br />switch external loads. Each channel may be configured to <br />energize or de -energize the relay in response to an alarm. The <br />user may also chose to use either a normally open (ie. open <br />when de -energized) or normally closed (ie. closed when de - <br />energized) contact output. This combination of features <br />allows you to choose not only whether the relay will open or <br />close in response to an alarm, but also whether it will open or <br />close when the power is turned off. <br />The Tank Sentinel" communicates with all BriteBoxTM <br />intelligent junction box expansion modules over the BriteBusTM <br />serial interface bus. The BriteBusTM consists of a ten conductor <br />ribbon cable to connect the Tank Sentinel" console to the <br />BriteBoxTM expansion module. The BriteBusTM <br />ribbon cable is run through a three quarter inch flexible or rigid <br />conduit connecting the console to the BriteBoxTM enclosure. <br />Alternatively, an optional TS -KB Installation Kit is recom- <br />mended to simplify this connection. Wiring from the load <br />circuits is connected to the field wiring terminal strip in the <br />TS-ROM2.
