u
n
11.4. INTERNAL ELECTRICAL WIRING (continued)
(a) The mother board provides six wiring posts for audio and visual alarms, and the alarm cir-
cuits functional test switches which are located on the front cover alarm panel. The interface
between the mother board and the channel PC card is accomplished with a 15 contact cardedge
connector. Next to each PC cardconnector are three male quick connects marked (BLUE,
WHITE,RED). These are provided for the connections between the mother board and the zener
safety barriers. Located at the top of the mother board to the left are the connections for the
relay contacts. And on the left side on the board are the power supply connections to the mother
board. The only field replaceable wiring is that connection between the mother board and the
zener safety barrier. No attempt should be made to repair, replace, or modify any otherwiring on
the mother board.
(b) Base plate wiring consists of the input power connection, relay output connection and
ground bar connections. The input power connector is marked (INPUT POWER 115 VAC, LINE
NEUT, GRD, and RELAYCONTACTS RATED FOR 115 VAC 5 AMPS, COM, NO, NC); these repre-
sent input powerof 115 volts ac connecting the line to the LINE terminal, neutral to the NEUT. ter-
minal and ground to the GRD terminal. The relay contacts are rated for 115 volts ac at 5 amperes,
the arm of the relay is marked COM, the normal open contact is marked NO, and the normal
closed contact is marked NC. Mounted on the base plate are the DC power supply, mother
board, input power connector, zener safety barrier support bracket and ground bar. These parts
and wiring are all factory installed and can not be repaired or modified in the field.
(c) Mounted on the front cover alarm panel are a red visual alarm indicator, an audio alarm and
it's silence switch, one liquid alarm test button, and one vapor alarm test button. The visual and
audio alarm can be triggered with any alarm signal generated from any of the sensing channels.
The audio alarm can be silenced with the alarm silence switch without effecting the visual alarm
or function of the system. The source of the alarm can be identified by viewing the individual PC
channel cards LED indicators. The LIQUID and VAPOR test switches are used for functional
tests on active liquid and vaporchannels. The lamp in the red visual alarm may be replaced in the
field. There are no other replaceable, repairable parts or wiring on the front cover.
(For information on wiring and installation see Section Ill., page 15 FIELD INSTALLATION AND
ELECTRONIC WIRING).
13
