1
I11. FIELD INSTALLATION AND ELECTRONIC WIRING
NOTE: INSTALLATION AND SERVICE SHOULD ONLY BE PROVIDED BY A QUALIFIED
INSTALLER.
The enclosure has four 5/16" diameter holes located on the mounting plate. Select a vertical
wall or instrument mounting panel free from water or dust collection. Easy access for routine
service and maintenance should also be a consideration when selecting a location for
mounting.
111.2. SENSOR INSTALLATION
For future inspection and service, a junction box should be used to terminate the sensor
cable above the monitoring well ortank riser. The size of the junction box should be 3/4" NPT or
larger, to allow the sensor to be removed when service is needed.
Because of its small size, the sensor can be adapted to almost all well sizes and tank wall gap
spacing. Also, because of its light weight, the sensor can be supported by its own cable alone
without the need of any additional mounting attachment.
The liquid sensor should be placed close to the lowest point within the space to be monitored,
so as to respond to the early leakage condition.
The vapor sensor should be placed in a dry environment near the source of the potential leak. However,
in order to prevent potential water damage, the vapor sensor must be installed above the highest ground
water level. Furthermore, the vapor sensor should be positioned downward to avoid accumulation of
condensation within the sensor.
NWARNING: VAPOR SENSOR WARRANTY VOID IF SUBMERGED IN LIOUID.
15
