The liquid alarm set point has been set with fixed resistors and no adjustment is available for
the liquid portion ofthe channel PCcard. All the liquid alarm set points have been fixed adthefeu-
toryprior to shipment; and hence no field adjustment is required or available.
NOTE: Set point adjustment might be needed for long distance sensor installation. Consult the
factory for special applications.
|factual sensor functional test iadesired, simply submerge the sensor housing slowly into
liquid. The alarm should be triggered immediately. When the sensor is removed from the liquid
the alarm will continue for awhile until the sensor element iadried.
The vapor alarm circuit isprovided with omadjustment bimpotmarked "VADJ"onthe front
name plate panel. The trimpot is located just below the red vapor alarm led.
Do not attemptto adjust thevaporset point priortowarm-up. It is essential thatthe vaporsen-
sor be warmed upfor edleast two hours before the alarm set point hsadjusted.
Prior to shipment, the vapor alarm set point is adjusted to approximately 2 1/2 turns counter-
clockwise
When the Leak Alert system kafirst turned on, the initial warm-up period might activate the
alarm. |fthe alarm continuesfor more than one hour, then it is quite possible that the monitoring
environment or background has already been contaminated with certain toxic gas or hydrocar-
bons.Toverifywvhetherthe alarm imcaused bycontamination, simply remove the vapor sensor
from the monitoring well, and place |t|nclean air, ifthe alarm continues, then the alarm set point
iotoo sensitive and hence, should bereadjusted. Onthe other hand, ifthe alarm stops, then it
confirms that, indeed the monitoring Well has been contaminated. Under this condition, a
thorough inspection of the field should be launched to seek the cause and magnitude of the
contamination. Depending on your locations and local, county and state laws and ordinances, a
clean up effort might be needed. Contact the proper authorities to determine the necessary
clean upsteps and scope.
W
