(1) Before being Covered, enolosed, or placed in use, all
underground storage tanks and piping shall be tested
for tightness hydrostatically or with air pressure at
not less then 3 pounds par aquas -Inch (20.68 k Pa) and
not nor* than 5 pounds per square -inch (34.48 k Pa).
Pressure piping shall be hydrostatically tasted to 150
Percent of the 8411eum anticipated pressure of the
system, or pneumatically tested to 110 percent of the
maximum anticipated pressure of the system. but not
less than 5 pounds per square inch (34.48 kPa) gauge at '=
the highest point of the system. This test shall be
maintained for s sufficient time to Complete visual
inspection of all Joints and connections. but for at
least 10 minutes. In lieu of the above. a test using
accepted engineering practices shall be used. Some
acceptable test methods for testing pipelines are
Provided in Appendix I of this subchapter.
