�J <br />0 PSECTION 1 l._ FUEL PUMP AND DISPENSER i\STALLATION <br />PART 1-GEI\TR.4L <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />A. This Section describes the general requirements for handling, storage, installation, <br />testing and identification of fuel pumps and dispensers. The pumps and or dispensers shall <br />be identified with the proper decals and labels as required by State and local regulations <br />and to allow the users of the system to readily identify the appropriate dispenser. <br />B. All equipment shall be installed according to manufacturer's specifications. <br />1.02 GENERAL <br />A. All products and equipment furnished must be vended in writing by the Engineer prior to <br />installation. <br />B. Handling and installation of the equipment shall be subiect to approval by the Engineer. <br />C. The Contractor shall be responsible for unloading equipment from the common carver. <br />removing equipment from its shipping containers and preparing equipment for installation. <br />D. The Contractor shall inspect all equipment to ascertain that there is no visible damage; that <br />sizes. model numbers, and' dimensions are as specified in the engineering data, and that all parts <br />are received as noted in packing lists. Contractor shall perform visual inspection, air pressure or <br />soap testing as required to confirm integrity of components prior to accepting delivery. <br />E. The Contractor shall provide protection against deterioration, rust, damage, and theft of all <br />equipment held in open storage prior to installation or exposed to weather or adverse conditions <br />after installation. and the Contractor shall install and remove temporary screens or covers <br />required to prevent entrance of injurious material or damage to the mechanical equipment. <br />F. The Contractor shall furnish all tools, chains, jacks. levels, micrometers, shims, wedges, and <br />other such items required for proper handling and alignment of mechanical equipment. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Results of tests specified herein to be performed by the Contractor shall be submitted <br />promptly upon completion of the tests. <br />B. Shop Drawings and Specifications for all equipment installed shall be submitted to the <br />® Engineer. <br />709s1121 1 of 5 <br />
