Compliance Dept.
mom don
680 Quinn Ave
ma, Inc. San Jose,CA 95112
408-213-6038-Office
408-213-6026-Fax
September 15, 2009
TO: Inspector Garrett Backus, San Joaquin County EHD
FR: Marty Weithman, Service Station Systems/Able Maintenance Inc.
RE: Chevron, 4344 Waterloo Rd., Stockton
I am sending you the permit application and other documents relating to the emergency
cold start of the Veeder-Root TLS 350 at the above listed site. The problem discovered at
the site on 9/12/09 was the TLS had repeated "warm start/system self test" and was not
properly monitoring the tanks and lines. Tech Jarrett Flewellyn determined that a cold
start was necessary and the problems disappeared and all worked normally.
In the course of the same emergency service call, he discovered that the Premium tank
turbine sump sensor was bad and replaced it"like for like". It was a VR-352 sensor. If it
turns out that you do not allow such a replacement, let me know and we'll change it out.
If you need any additional information or have any questions, please let me know as soon
as possible. I apologize for the delay in submitting this application. I have been on sick
leave for two weeks and am slowly catching up on my paperwork.
Please send a copy of the permit to me at the address below. Thanks for helping us
resolve the situation in a timely manner.
Marty Weithman
Permit Compliance Officer
Service Station Systems, Inc.
680 Quinn Ave.
San Jose, CA 95112
PH: 408.213.6038
FX: 408.213.6026
