0
Jacketed Steel Tanks
In response to the need for an environmentally safe
underground storage tank, Jacketed Steel Tanks
were developed. They have the strength of steel with
an air tight jacket which provides 3600 secondary
containment and corrosion protection. Both the tank
and the secondary containment jacket carry a U.L.
listing. They are available nationwide in a variety of
standard sizes, with accessories to accommodate
secondary containment of tank fittings, pumps and
associated piping.
Primary Steel Tank
A U.L. 58, steel underground storage tank has
always been considered the strongest and most
chemically compatible tank you can buy. Fitted with
a Tank JacketTI, it is completely isolated and pro-
tected from corrosion causing chemicals, bacteria
and electrical ground currents which may be
present in the surrounding environment. On the
inside of the steel tank, striker plates are installed
under each opening to eliminate internal gauge -
stick impact corrosion. We feel so strongly about this
corrosion proteciMI system, we offer a 30 year
warranty against failure, due to corrosion.
•
Double Wall Design
A Jacketed Steel Tank consists of a secondary
containment jacket, called the Tank Jackefm, which
is applied to a steel underground storage tank at the
factory. This application creates a unique double
wall tank, with a steel inner wall for structural strength
and a semi-rigid outer wall which has excellent
impact and puncture resistance. The Tank Jacket?A
is separated from the steel tank by a special grid to
create the annular space. Each end of the tank has
a monitoring column and access fitting for
installation of a leak detection sensor.
Secondary Tank Jacket
A product of years of development and testing, the
Tank JacketTm has proven to be a safe and effective
means of secondary containment and corrosion
protection for steel tanks. It is made of a thick, 100
mil., high density polyethylene (HDPE), a dielectric,
non -corrosive and chemically resistant material
which has a proven history of stability in under-
ground applications. It is compatible with petroleum
fuels, methanol, ethanol, as well as many other
chemicals. All Tank JacketTM seams are thermo
welded to provide an air testable container around
the entire steel tank.
