The source of this contamination could be very old from such <br />things as oiled concrete forms, etc. <br />The 550-ga I l on tank being discussed herein was installed in 1950 <br />in a concrete pit. The tank was replaced by a new 2000 -gallon <br />tank when a larger generator was installed in 1974. The 550 - <br />gallon tank has been empty and • used • 14 years. <br />Soil samples were taken at 20' (bottom of tank) and at 28 1 . The <br />contamination has had at least 14 years to migrate 81 to 281 <br />deep.
