0 I. INTRODUCTION <br />1.1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION <br />Universal Sensors and Devices Leak Alert System is designed specifically for <br />underground liquid storage tank leak detection applications. The system uses two <br />types of sensing probes: (1) a thermal element capable of detecting the presence of <br />any liquid, and (2) a metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensor that recognizes the <br />presence of most combustible and organic vapors. <br />Each Leak Alert system includes an electronic control enclosure, and one or more <br />remote liquid/vapor sensors. <br />1.2. INITIAL INSPECTION AND WARRANTY <br />The instrument should be inspected for shipping damage after unpacking. If any <br />damage is found, please notify the carrier and factory immediately. <br />Universal Sensors and Devices, Inc. warrants the original purchaser that its instrument <br />and component parts thereof, will be free of defects in workmanship and materials <br />for a period of one year from the date of shipment USD's sole obligation under this <br />warranty is to replace defective parts, f.o.b. USD's factory, or at USD's sole election <br />to repair defective parts without charge. Claims under this warranty must be made in <br />writing within 15 days after the defects are discovered, which period of time is <br />expressly agreed to be reasonable. All such claims must be substantiated by USD's <br />inspection department <br />USD will not be liable for any consequential damages, including, without limitation, <br />damages resulting from loss of use. <br />1.3. RETURN REQUESTS <br />Authorization must be obtained from the factory before returning items for any <br />reason. When requesting authorization, please state reason for return, date of <br />purchase, instrument's serial number, or your P.O. number and our invoice number if <br />available. <br />Y. <br />
