November 18, 2003 Mr. Steven Shih San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor Stockton, CA 95202 Subject: Submittal of Annual Leak Detection Monitoring System Certification Reports and Annual Spill Bucket Leak Test Reports Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Experimental Test Site (Site 300) Dear Mr. Shih: Enclosed are the annual leak detection monitoring system certification reports and the annual spill bucket leak test reports for the 5 regulated Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Experimental Test Site (Site 300). Routine maintenance testing and/or calibration are performed annually in accordance with 23 CCR 2630 (d) and 23 CCR 2712 (b). ). The spill bucket leak tests are performed annually in accordance with H&S Code, Section 25284.2. Annual maintenance testing and spill bucket testing, of the underground petroleum tank systems 871-D1 U2, 875-D1 U2, 879-D1 U1, 879-G3U1, and 882-D1 U1, were performed by Mr. Brian Thornton of Thornton & Son Electric of Milpitas, CA on October 23, 2003 and October 28, 2003. The annual test of the Line Leak Detector (LLD) in the sump for the 879-G3U1 tank system was inconclusive. Procurement for a subsequent test is in progress and will be scheduled for late November or early December 2003. We will notify you of the date as soon as it is confirmed. The remote alarm display lamp on the 875-D1 U2 panel has been replaced. All of the electronic leak detection systems were found to be in proper operating condition. All of the spill buckets were found to be leak tight.
