Interdepartmental letterhead <br /> Mad Station L 871 <br /> Ext. 3-5630 <br /> September . 23 , 1987 <br /> TO: Mike Fernandez <br /> .FROM: Marjorie Gonzalez <br /> SUBJECT: TANK ALARM RESPONSE PROTOCOL <br /> In the event of a tank alarm, the responder shall inspect the <br /> secondary containment system to determine if a leak has <br /> occurred: <br /> o If a leak has n9t occurred, the alarm system will be <br /> checked to determine the cause of the false alarm, and <br /> repairs will be made to prevent recurrence. <br /> o If a leak has occurred, the following will be done: <br /> - The tank system will be repaired to prevent further <br /> leakage. <br /> - LLNL' s Environmental Protection Department will be <br /> notified as soon as possible after the leak is <br /> confirmed. They will make the required notifications <br /> to environmental regulatory agencies upon discovery <br /> of the leak and after the leaky tank system is <br /> repaired. <br /> I discussed the above statements with Rick Henry and he <br /> concurred that the response protocol is appropriate . <br /> If you have any questions , please call me . <br /> Marjo i A.
