3. PIAN REVIEW GUMLINES 0 a. The enclosed plan review sheet is provided for your information to assist you in interpreting our requirements for your new UST system. b. A copy of the California UST Regulations may be obtained from the State Water Resources Control Board at (916) 739-4332. Q Permits and/or plan check approval may also be required by the San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District,County/City Building Department and Fire District in your respective area. d. Complete and submit the State Water Resources Control Board 'Facility Permit (A)' and 'Tank Permit (B)' application forms. e. A minimum of 3 inspections will be conducted on the UST system installation. A S78 per hour inspection fee shall be charged for additional inspections or reinspection as required. (See required inspection below) Applicanticontractor to adhere to the approval plan and any change or deviation shall be reported and approved by PHS/EHD prior to installation. g. Application for installation of underground tanks are only valid for the calendar year in which it has been issued. A permit may be extended into the next calendar year if a letter is sent to PHS-EHD requesting this extension thirty days prior to the end of the calendar year. A one year--one time extension may be granted by PHS-EHD upon receipt of this letter. 4. REOuTRED INSPECTIONS All appointments for inspections must be made at least 48 hours in advance for the following. a. Primary and secondary tank(s)shall be tested pneumatically at 3 -5 ps.L for one hour,one- half hour for primary tank and one-half hour for secondary tank. Double walled tanks are exempt if annular space is monitored using either pressure or vacuum testing. (All external connection shall be soap tested while under pressure) b. Pressure piping shall be hydrostatically tested to 150% or pneumatically tested to 110% of maximum anticipated system pressure but does not less than 5 lbs. per square inch at the highest point of the system for a minimum of 20 minutes. Q All lines other than pressure piping shall be pressure tested at not less than 3 p s.L and not more than 5 ps.i. for a minimum of 20 minutes and soap tested while under pressure. d. Containment sumps shall pass a 24 hour leak test. e. Overfill protection shall be capable of draining liquid back into fuel tanks. e. Monitoring system shall pass a functional test. The functional test shall consist of the activation of the alarm via the monitoring probes/sensors. L Final inspection and approval to operate will be granted after the above requirements are satisfied and a hard copy of the precision test is submitted to inspector at site. The contractor's approved printset of the UST installation shall kept at the job site and must be shown to the inspector upon request. In addition, the Local Fire Department shall approve UST installation prior to commencement of work.
