CLOSURE REPORT FOR UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS 879-GlU1&879-G2U1 ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLE INFORMATION: SOIL Soil sample collection and handling procedures were in accordance with LLNL Tank Assessments and Guidance Group Procedure 203,Soil Sampling. Samples collected for disposal options included 1 discrete sample collected for each 25 yards. Describe how the tank excavation was secured after soil sample collection: The excavation was secured by means ofely low plastic "snow fence" and barricades equipped with flashing lights Later, the excavation was backfilled with imported clean fill (pea gravel) after installation of UST 879-G3U1. Identify the source of the water(if known): During initial excavation of UST 879-G1U1 &-G2U1 ,(3/17/94) breakage of the on-site water distribution and supply system to Building 879 (Site 300 Water Main)occurred Describe where and how the removed water was stored on site, and type of containment used: Erickson pumped 5.000-gallons of water from the excavation into their truck.
