CLOSURE REPORT FOR UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK 827-D2U1 <br /> CLOSURE REPORT CONCLUSIONS: <br /> UST 827-122U1 was closed according to the Closure Plan approved by the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services. <br /> • On June 22,1994,the tank system was closed and the the tank was removed from the ground. <br /> Soil samples collected from within the excavation and from the soil removed from the <br /> excavation were submitted for analyses of TPH-D (diesel fuel) and BTXE (benzene, toluene, <br /> xylenes, and ethylbenzene). On July 1, the results of analyses were received and indicated <br /> 11.0 mg/kg of diesel fuel (by TPH-D method) in the soil sample collected from the excavated <br /> soil and fill gravel, and no BTXE compounds. Another soil sample collected from a depth of <br /> 10 feet within the excavation (TK02-827-01-D2U1-SO-10.0) indicated no TPH-D or BTXE <br /> compounds. <br /> • The stockpile soil from the UST 827-D2U1 excavation has not been remediated, nor has a <br /> method of proper disposal been determined. <br /> • At this time.LLNL does not plan any further action for this tank closure. <br /> [ X ] Photographs of tank closure activities are enclosed as Appendix D. <br /> [N/A] A copy of the State Water Resources Control Board UST Permit Application Form B <br /> shall be submitted to your office within 30 days of the submittal of this report. <br /> [N/A] A copy of the State Water Resources Control Board UST Permit Application Form B <br /> was submitted to your office with the UST Closure Plan. <br /> OTHER OBSERVATIONS: <br /> • An Underground Storage Tank Unauthorized Release (Leak)/Contamination Report was sent <br /> to Mr.Doug Wilson of the Public Health Services of San Joaquin County on July 11, 1994 (see <br /> Appendix F)based on the resulting analyses of soil samples collected on June 22,1-994. <br /> • Tank testing had shown this tank to be leak tight. <br /> • Weather was sunny and windy. <br /> • Soil compaction was performed as indicated on the Consolidated Engineering Labs Field <br /> Density Report see Appendix G). <br /> • The certificate of tank destruction is enclosed as Appendix H. <br /> 5 <br />
