AUL <br /> CLOSURE REPORT FOR UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK 871-DlU1 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLE INFORMATION: <br /> SOIL <br /> Soil sample collection and handling procedures were in accordance with LLNL Tank <br /> Assessments and Guidance Group Procedure 203,Soil Sampling. <br /> Soil samples were collected by: Marion Heaton and Patti Kluck on 7/27/94, and Marion <br /> Heaton and Dave Castro on 8/23/94 and 8/25/94. <br /> Sample analyses requested: <br /> From within the excavation (TPH Diesel and BTXE); and from the excavated soil, and fill, <br /> (TPH Diesel; EPA Method 8010/8020 (HVOC/AVOC), Metals by STLC and TTLC; gross <br /> alpha&beta,tritium;and Corrosivity,Reactivity, and Ignitability (CRI)). Samples collected <br /> for disposal options included 1 discrete sample collected for each 25 yards. The analytical <br /> results summarized below are for the TPH-D and BTXE analyses specified by the closure <br /> elan and remedial action agreement. Results of analyses in addition to TPH-D and BTXE are <br /> available on request. Aside from TPH-D and BTXE results, none of the analyses showed <br /> results indicating_a need for additional investigation. <br /> TPH-D:Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel. BTXE: Benzene,Toluene,Xylene,and <br /> Ethyl Benzene. <br /> Name and address of analytical laboratory: California Laboratory Services,3249 Fitzgerald <br /> Road,Rancho Cordova,CA 95742. Radiological analyses were performed by LLNL <br /> Environmental-Analytical Sciences Lab,Livermore,Ca 94550, <br /> Describe how the tank excavation was secured after soil sample collection: The excavation was <br /> secured by means of barricades and yellow plastic"snow"fence and"Road Closed"signs. <br /> WATER <br /> Static water level below grade: 45 feet(aquifer nearest surface). <br /> Describe any sheen,free product or odor present in the water: Water began to seep into the hole <br /> while excavating on the afternoon of 8/23/94 By the morning of 8/25/94 water had assumed a <br /> static level 18'6"below the surface representing a volume of 10 gallons in the excavation <br /> Water pumped out of the excavation: [ ]Yes [ X ]No <br /> Volume of water removed from the tank excavation: N/A. <br /> Water sampled: [ ]Yes [X]No <br /> Water sample was collected by: N/A.
