Field <br />staff should take precautions to prevent sunburn by using st lotion and/or wearing hats <br />and long-sleeved garment. <br />Rest Stftm The potemial for beat stress is a concern when field activities are perfortmd on <br />wm-M sunny days, and is acne tmted when chemical protective cloffrin is worm: Heat stress <br />prevention mewures and moriitoring will be inVIetnented if site temperatures are above 70 <br />degrees Fabrenheit (F). <br />Precautions to prevent heat stress will include work/rest cycles so that rest periods am taken <br />before excessive fidgue occurs, and regular intake of water to replace that lost from sweating. <br />WorWrest cycles will be based on monitoring the heart rate (pulse) of each individual worker. <br />Reg breaks wM be long enough to reduce the heart rate (HR) below levels calculated according <br />to tne 101town Ire twas. <br />I . Tho worker will initiaUy determine thew resting HR prior starting work activities. <br />2.
