Install the in-line filter with
the direction of the arrow pointing towards the syphon
jet port on the Submersible Turbine Pump (STP).
Use existing Copper Tubing (rated for use with gasoline)
Connects the Suction AT the Turbine Pump.
Use modified installation of Figure 1&2. Cut Away side
view of on STP/ filter installation.
In lieu of Aluminum or Stainless Steel Insect Screen,
use swagelock mud dabber on suction tube IN BOTTOM
OF Vapor Pot. SET 1/4" OFF Bottom of Vapor Pot.
Use Dual Liquid Sensor Connection in the vapor pot, to
connect to the UST Monitoring System. Install one
sensor into man -hole botom and one into sump.
Liquid sensor installed inside the Liquid Condensate Trap
must meet the following minimal requirements:
Provides a visual and audible alarm in case of failure
of the evacuation system;
The audible and visual alarm monitoring system must
be installed at a location that is most likely to be
heard by the station attendant during normal station
operation;
Set the liquid sensor to the height shown in Figure 2.
Note: Use BOTH Teflon® Tape and a
brushed -on thread sealant on all threaded
connections to form a vapor- tight seal.
Tighten the Wire Grip Nut to 75-100 in#. of
torque to secure the cable. Use a torque
wrench with McMaster Carr # 5347A148,
1-1/16 inch Open End Head, for
Interchangeable -Head Torque Wrench or
equivalent.
Prior to installing the Liquid Condensate Trap
Equipment listed in Exhibit 1 of the EO VR -203
or VR -204, flush -out the Liquid Condensate
Trap to remove any dirt or debris that may have
accumulated inside the Liquid Condensate Trap.
Document the capacity, in gallons, of the Liquid
Condensate Trap on an aluminum tag` and
attach this tag to the suction riser above the
Fuel Entry Port. The capacity could be
documented using a metal stomp or metal
engraving pen, or a waterproof ink marker on
the aluminum tag. A vinyl covered steel cable
or a zip -tie` could be used to attach to the
riser. Strips of aluminum con be purchased at
most hardware stores.
Using a hand pump, pump approximately 5
gallons of fresh gasoline into the Liquid
Condensate Trap. Using the some hand pump,
reverse the hoses and pump out the gasoline
you just added. Repeat this procedure using
fresh clean gasoline each time until the gasoline
you are removing is clean and clear. This
process may require a number of flushes (may
be as many as 20 or more) before the gasoline
being removed is clean and clear.
bg V-A%O`N Aj'' SAN JOAOUIN COUNTY
1 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
499 E.T • STOCKTON CA 95201 S
(209) 468-3420
SAL APPROVED SUBJECT TO:
0, JITATION PER
J OL'?^-',F'EL _;. 1 1P PERMIT
E DITIO`.!S NOTED
All, at 'vvl':,,: .S SI ovin 'ill t?
