May 2011 Project No. 1001-0343 :•••oi•:••.trig • Completion of a pre-assessment site visit to position and demarcate the proposed drill hole locations prior to notifying Underground Service Alert (USA) for clearance of potential underground utilities; • Advance two drill holes through the base of the UST (one at each end of the tank) to depths of approximately 15 feet (2 feet into native soil material) to facilitate the collection of undisturbed soil samples for chemical analyses. If groundwater is encountered then a Hydropunch groundwater sample will also be collected for chemical analyses; • Chemical analyses of soil and groundwater samples for the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons identified as diesel fuel (TPHd) using U.S. EPA method 8015 modified and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tert butyl ether(MTBE) using U.S. EPA method 8260; and • Preparation of an assessment report detailing the field methodologies utilized, summarizing the chemical analytical results, and presenting Padre's conclusions and/or recommendations for the Site. 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION The Project Site is located in a portion of Section 31, Township 1 South, Range 7 East, of the Manteca, California USGS 7'/2-Minute topographic series, Quadrangle Map. According to the topographic map, the Project Site lies at an approximate elevation of 25 feet above mean sea level. Approximate latitude and longitude are identified to be: • Latitude (North) 37°47' 52.80°(37.7980) • Longitude(West) 121° 14' 48.35-(121.2468) The Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center is located at 1777 West Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, San Joaquin County, California. The area of the UST is located in the southwest portion of the property. 2.1 GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY The Project Site is located in the southern portion of the Great Valley Geomorphic Province, a north-south trending valley, approximately 400 miles long by 50 miles wide, the southern portion of which is known as the San Joaquin Valley. The Project Site is located on the eastern flank of the San Joaquin Valley, west of the southern Sierra Nevada. The surface of the San Joaquin Valley is composed primarily of unconsolidated Pleistocene (1.6 million to 11,000 years ago) and Recent(11,000 years ago to the present) alluvial sediments. These lie unconformably on Mio-Pliocene, marine sediments, which extend to a crystalline basement at a depth of approximately 20,000 feet (Norris and Webb, 1990). According to the California Geological Survey, Geologic Map of the San Francisco-San Jose Quadrangle (1990 - second printing, 2005), the Project Site is underlain by Modesto Formation.
