GENERAL WORK PRACTICES <br /> Personal safety and hygiene should be of utmost consideration while on-site. The following rules and <br /> guidelines shall be followed while on the site. <br /> 1. No one will be permitted to engage in work operations alone, unless authorized by the project <br /> manager. <br /> 2. Smoking, eating, drinking, chewing gum or tobacco will not be permitted within the work zones. <br /> 3. Personnel should keep track of weather conditions and wind direction to the extent they could affect <br /> potential exposure. <br /> 4. Personnel should be alert to any abnormal behavior on the part of other workers that might indicate <br /> distress, disorientation, or other ill effects. <br /> 5. Personnel should never ignore symptoms that could indicate potential exposure to chemical contaminants. <br /> These should be immediately reported to the project manger or SSO. <br /> 6. During the inerting process, and during removal, an explosimerter will be on-site to determine proper <br /> levels. <br /> 7. An ABC rated fire extinguisher will be on-site for the duration of the project. <br /> 8. Personnel should be aware of open excavations, heavy equipment, utilities, loose concrete and <br /> reinforcing bar. <br /> 9. Others(specific to tasks, i.e., trenching safety,drill rig safety, site entry,etc.) <br /> 5 <br />
