Adams(916) 327-6976 FAX (916) 327-7469 . wwFv.kvsiiine@waterboards.ca.gov <br />Installing Underground Storage Tanks (IUST) <br />Grant Program <br />Grant funds are available to Small Businesses for underground storage tanks (UST's) <br />installed on or after July 1, 2004 that are subject to the requirements of California Health <br />and Safety Code Section 25290.1. To qualify as a small business, as defined in AB <br />2955, the grant applicant is a business that employs fewer than 500 full-time and part- <br />time employees, is independently owned and operated, and is not dominant in its field <br />of operation. Grant funds available up to $30,000 per facility. <br />k Grant funds available for: <br />• Costs associated with leak detection equipment used to -monitor the UST's <br />interstitial space; the maximum payment for this equipment is $15,000. <br />• Costs associated with Enhanced Leak Detection testing after installation to <br />demonstrate that the UST is product tight; the maximum payment for these <br />tests are $15,000. <br />Grants may be issued before or after UST installation. Please note that grants must be <br />issued no later than 12 months after the installed UST is placed into use.
