The OPW 61 SO overfill prevention valve is de- <br />signed to be a simple, low cost solution to positive <br />shut-off of product fill for underground storage <br />tanks. The shut-off valve is an integral part of the <br />4" drop tube used for submerged filling. No exten- <br />sive or expensive excavation is required. The OPW <br />61 SO can easily be retrofit into existing locations. <br />No special manholes are required. Installing the <br />OPW 61 SO is as simple as changing drop tubes. <br />1;ALVE <br />M III 71in- tegral <br />11 surge relief <br />FE 4428-1 <br />F_1TV;1M*RXME' <br />INSTALLATION: <br />Remove the existing submerged drop tube from <br />the 4" riser pipe, if applicable. Holding the float <br />against the valve, simply insert the OPW 61 SO into <br />the riser pipe, the float will automatically move into <br />the proper position. Install the cap and adaptor. <br />The OPW 61 SO is a two stage shut-off valve. <br />When liquid level rises to level A the valve mech- <br />anism is released and the valve closes automati- <br />cally with the flow. This reduces the flow rate to ap- <br />proximately 2-5 gpm through a bypass valve. The <br />operator may then stop the filling process, discon- <br />nect and walk down the hose. As long as the liquid <br />level exceeds A, the valve will close automatically <br />each time delivery is attempted. <br />If the storage tank is intentionally overfilled to an un- <br />safe condition and the liquid rises to level B, the <br />bypass valve closes.
