* RECEIVED
1. Introduction
ENVIRONMENTAL
NAL
GHD Service, Inc (GHD) is submitting this report summarizing the results of compliance soil
sampling and soil over -excavation performed during station upgrade activities at Chevron Service
Station 201383 located at 1960 W. 11th Street in Tracy, California (Figure 1). This work was
performed for CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), working on behalf of Chevron Global Marketing (Chevron).
:2v& CeM 11'"'114Station upgrade activities were performed in January .2015 and included the conversion of one
existing gasoline underground storage tank to store diesel and the upgrade of six under dispenser
containments (UDCs). As directed by the San Juaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD), GHD collected compliance soil samples beneath the dispensers. Based on
photo -ionization detector (PID) readings at two of the dispensers, GHD directed over -excavation of
hydrocarbon bearing soil, and collected confirmation samples at the bottom of the excavations. For
waste characterization purposes, GHD also collected three composite samples of the soil
excavated during UDC upgrades and the over -excavations.
2. Site Description
The site is an active Chevron service station located on the southwest corner of 11th Street and
Corral Hollow Road in Tracy, California (Figure 1). Site structures include a building with a
convenience store and car wash, one 12,000 -gallon diesel UST, two 12,000 -gallon gasoline USTs,
six dispensers under a canopy, and underground piping (Figure 2).
3. Scope of Work and Procedures
On January 7, 2016, GHD collected six compliance soil samples beneath the dispensers. Based on
PID readings, GHD directed over -excavation of hydrocarbon bearing soil beneath two dispenser
locations and collected two confirmation samples from the bottom of the excavations. GHD then
collected three composite samples from the soil stockpiles generated during the dispenser
upgrades and over -excavations. GHD's scope of work included the following.
3.1 Site Specific Health and Safety Plan
GHD performed all work under the guidelines set forth in a comprehensive site-specific health and
safety plan. The plan was reviewed and signed by GHD workers and visitors, and kept onsite at all
times.
3.2 Personnel
GHD personnel collected samples under the supervision of California Professional Geologist
Brandon Wilken, PG 7564.
3.3 Soil Sampling and Over -Excavation
On January 7, 2016, compliance soil samples D1/2, D3/4, D5/6, D7/8, D9/10, and D11/12 were
collected at depths ranging from 3.8 and 5 feet below grade (fbg) by driving 6 -inch steam cleaned
brass tubes into relatively undisturbed native soil in the bucket of a backhoe, excavated from the
GHD I Report for Chevron —Compliance Sampling and Excavation Report and Station Upgrade Activities 111109471 (2) 11
