E
1
3/8' Reinforced Diamond Plate
with special cam lock mech's,
and Grade 8 Cad Plated Bolts
with seals.
12 Ga. Rolled
Steel Frame High Density Polyethylene
Sump Shield #SC -3001 -SS
„ O Q
To set the elevation for the fiberglass sump, the optimum
position should be 8" below finished concrete or asphalt
grade. This allows a 1" overlap for steel spill collector
frame when it is elevated 1 " above finished concrete grade.
This elevation setting also positions the light weight high
density polyethylene sump shield, number SC -3601 -SS to
the right position for eliminating water intrusion. Cut the
4" Ell pipe riser to a length of 14 1/2" below Anished
concrete grade. (Not the 1' elevated grade)
After all grades are set and tanks are back filled to top of
fiberglass sump, Spill Collector can be installed. Now
install the light weight high density polyethylene sump
shield with the proper openings cut out. ?hen install the
nylon spill collector bucket, hand tighten against "O"ring,
if the Spill Collector is used on the vapor side install vapor
spill collector now. (Vapor spill collector is different. It is
1 " shorter on the 4" riser, be sure to check this).
Now the spill collectorlid and frame can be installed. Using
cam lock mechanism to fasten the Ed to the frame by
ming bolts clockwise until cams inter -lock with dimples
in frame, then tighten approximately one tum more to
tighten down against seal. (Do this in a cross lid pattem
which will apply even pressure on seal). After the lid is
properly installed on the frame, it can now be positioned
over sump and spill collector bucket. It may be to your
advantage to leave offspill collector bucket "O"ring on this
initial installation and after concrete is poured then remove
Ed and install "O" rings to final installation.
Be sure when lid and frame are installed that 36 "lid is atleast
1 'above finished concrete grade and that collector bucket is
2" below flange in collector.
If these instructions are followed you should have an
attractive and easy installation.
SUMP COVER LID REMOVAL
For ease of removal we have furnished Jack screws. First,
tum all hold down bolts (1/2 Hex) counter clockwise to stop.
Next, remove button head alien screws (Do not discard)insert
"7" handle Jack screws in threaded hole (if "T" handles are
not available use 5/16" -18 bolts) and raise lid. When lid is
free from collector bucket "O"ring use "T" handle to lift lid
from sump.
To replace lid simply lower lid over spill collector buckets.
Remove "T"handles and press lid into place, tum hex bolts
clockwise until pressure is felt, then in cross lid tightening
pattern, tighten bolts to draw lid down against the seal
evenly. Please re-tastaft the button bead a11en screws.
