II. All employees should review the Service Station Monitoring Plan, of which this training <br />plan is a part. Specifically, each employee should understand the procedures to be used <br />in responding to various kinds of emergencies, and know how to monitor for leaks of <br />hazardous materials. As a supplement to this package, employees should also review the <br />Emergency Response Plan filed by your business to the appropriate local agency. Thirdly, <br />employees should review and have access to the Materials Safety Data Sheets you have <br />on file for each of the hazardous materials stored at the station. <br />III. FIRST AID PROCEDURES (For exposure to gasoline or diesel fuel): <br />A. EYE CONTACT: For direct contact, flush the affected eye(s) with clean water. If <br />irritation or redness develops, seek medical attention. <br />B. SKIN CONTACT: Wipe product from skin and remove soaked clothing. Cleanse <br />affected area(s) thoroughly by washing with soap and water. If irritation develops <br />and persists, seek medical attention. Do not use solvents or thinners to remove <br />product from skin. <br />C. INHALATION (Breathing): If symptoms of exposure develop move victim away from <br />source of exposure and into fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. <br />Symptoms include: flushing, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, headache, <br />drowsiness, loss of coordination and fatigue. <br />DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING• • - LUNGS ANY <br />CAUSE DAMAGEI <br />If victim is conscious and alert, give two to three cups of milk or water to drink. <br />Seek medical attention. <br />E. For further information, consult the Materials Safety Data Sheets for these products <br />and for other hazardous materials. <br />FIRST AID FOR EXPOSURE TO OTHER MATERIALS: Consult the warning advice on <br />container labels or refer to the MSDS for that product. <br />10 <br />
