SUMMARY
437 N.Wilson Way, Wilson Way Chevron
On July 9, 2002, Mr. Ray von Flue, Registered Environmental Health Specialist (RENS), San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD), performed a routine hazardous waste
inspection at Wilson Way Chevron (Attachment 1). This facility did not have a valid EPA ID
number to manage hazardous waste. Mr. von Flue was told by the cashier they cleaned up spills
with absorbent pads, bagged them up, and threw them in the trash.
On January 28, 2005, a permit application, SR0041059, to install probes for enhanced leak
detection (ELD) testing was received from CGRS, Inc. (Attachment 2). On January 31, 2005,
CGRS, Inc. provided notification to the EHD that the facility would be inoculated with the tracer
element that day. On February 7, 2005, ELD sampling was performed, analyzed on February
14, 2005, and results were submitted on April 12, 2005, showing failures for both tanks
(Attachment 3). Ms. Michelle Le, Senior REHS, EHD, contacted West Lane Chevron to
determine the status of the tanks but the contact person was not available. Ms. Le left a
message for the manager to call her so she could find out the status of the site.
