Facility
120 Frank West Circle, Stockton, CA
Dear Ms. Henry:
On behalf of A. Teichert and Son, Inc. (Teichert), Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus) has
prepared this Soil Sampling Report for the Teichert facility located at 120 Frank West
Circle, Stockton, California. Stratus recently collected compliance soil samples during
removal of underground piping connecting to an underground storage tank (UST) used to
store waste oil at the subject property. This report documents the soil sampling activities,
and presents analytical results of the compliance soil samples.
SOIL SAMPLING
On May 22, 2007, a Stratus geologist visited the site to collect the compliance soil samples,
at the direction of Ms. Michelle Henry of San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD). Sampling locations and the configuration of the work area are
shown on Figure 1. Two samples (FL1-2 and FL2-2) were collected from soil beneath the
waste oil fill pipe connecting to the UST. Two samples (Stockpile Sample 1 and Stockpile
Sample 2) were collected from pea gravel covering the UST, as requested by SJCEHD
personnel. Soil sampling beneath the vent line extending to the UST was not required.
Samples FL1-2 and FL2-2 were collected from approximately 2 feet below ground surface
(bgs) after being exposed by a limited backhoe excavation.
Samples were collected by hand driving a brass sampling tube into the soil/pea gravel at the
requested locations. The ends of each brass tube were then covered with Teflon TM sheets
and plastic caps. The samples were placed in an ice-chilled cooler. Each sample was
labeled with the sample name, collection date and time, and identified on a chain-of-custody
form.
K:\Teichert\Stockton-Frankwest\teichert-frankwest-ssr 061307.doc
