' Idlewild Market - O HB.
Pa -4-
June 1.
Page -4-
' with Blue Ice for storage. The soil samples were hand delivered
' under chain-of-custody procedures to GeoAnalytical Laboratories
in Modesto, California, for analyses .
I
3.0 OVER-EXCAVATION
' Following the collection of soil samples beneath the tanks,
Pit 1 was over--excavated in an attempt to remove the observed
' petroleum stained soil (Figure 3, Appendix A, Over-Excavation -
' Pit 1) . Mary Maese of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department was on site to observe the over-excavation and
' direct soil sampling. Glen White of Condor monitored the over-
excavation and collected soil samples as directed by the County
representative.
' The sidewalls of the tank excavation1 Pit
{ ) were extended
' outward approximately 3 feet laterally and the floor was
excavated to a depth of approximately 17 feet below the ground
' surface. A patch of grey petroleum stained soil remained on the
' north sidewall from the 6 foot depth to a depth of approximately
11 feet below the ground surface. No petroleum staining or odors
' were noted in the soil on the remaining sidewalls or floor of the
excavation. Additional excavation to the north could not be
' conducted at that time due to the proximity of the concrete
driveway and pump island.
I
CONDOR
