5.0 RESULTS OF FORMER UST SITE ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
1 5.1 SOIL SAMPLE SCREENING RESULTS
r , As described in Section 3.1 above, selected soil sample liners were collected to evaluate the
possible presence of volatile organic compounds using an OVM/PID. Soil sample descriptions
and OV I/PID readings are provided on field soil boring log forms, which are found in
Appendix A to this Addendum Report. Three of the four soil sample-drives evaluated exhibited
OVM/PID detection above background measurements. All four-soil samples collected were
analyzed for MTBE and BTEX gasoline constituents. Soil sample descriptions and OVMIPID
readings are provided on field soil boring log forms, which are found in Appendix A to this
Addendum Report.
1 5.2 SOIL SAMPLE LABORATORY ANALYTICAL RESULTS
5.2.1 Laboratory Testing for Gasoline Oxygenates and BTEX Compounds
Laboratory analytical results for the four soil samples collected from the two borings are
reported on Table 1. Detectable concentrations of MTBE were found in three of the four soil
} samples tested. The reported MTBE concentrations ranged from 20 gg/kg in sample B-1-19.5,
to 80 gg/kg in soil sample B-2-20. The reporting limit for the non-detect sample B-1-15 was {
5.0 gg/kg. No other gasoline oxygenates were reported in the soil sample analyzed.
4
No detection of BTEX gasoline constituents were found in any of the soil tested. The reporting
limit for the BTE gasoline constituents was 0.5 gg/kg. The reporting limit for xylenes (X) was
= 1.0gg/kg. Laboratory analytical reports and all Chain-of-Custody documentation for soil
samples collected are provided in Appendix B.
I
DFI0010I.SJUIB ARSC.062000 8
