03 December 2007 y
AGE-NC Project No. 00-0696
for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to mobilization, the proposed boring locations will be clearly I
marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
I
2.2. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
AGE proposes to advance five soil probe borings for the collection of soil samples, using direct push
technology. The borings will be advanced to approximately 10 feet below surface grade bs Soil
samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at five feet bsg and extending to the total i
depth of the boring. The proposed soil boring locations are illustrated on Figure 3.Field procedures S
for advancement of the soil probe borings and collection of soil samples are presented in Sections
3.1 and 3.2..
Selected soil samples may be submitted for laboratory, analysis. Samples selected for analysis will
be analyzed by a State of California Department of Public Health(CDPH)-certified laboratory for
some or all of the following constituents: 1
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d,
respectively) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified;and
• Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and total xylenes(BTEJQ and fuel oxygenates di-isopropyl .
ether (DIPE), methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butyl alcohol TBA 1 2-dichloroethane
(1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB)by EPA Method 8260B.
Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report of
findings with recommendations. 1
E
2.3. GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
A grab groundwater sample will be collected from each soil boring to assess the lateral extent of the 4
petroleum-hydrocarbon ground water plume. Grab ground water samples will be collected using a
Geoprobe water sampling assembly.Samples will be collected into 40-milliliter(ml)volatile organic
analysis(VOA)vials and 1-liter amber bottles as appropriate for the required analysis, both without
preservative;ground water sample collection procedures are presented in section 3.1.Ground water
samples will be analyzed by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the constituents listed in section 2.2.
Advanced GcoEnvironmentnl,Inc.
i
r
