Tenth St.
Tracy, CA 95.376
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) has
reviewed the Quarterly Monitoring Report (QMR) dated November 1, 1999-prepared-by Wright
Environmental Services(WES), Inc., for the above referenced site. A soil sample collected from
the tank pit over-excavation on April 36, 1999, evidenced contamination at 12.5 feet below
surface grade (bsg). This was the deepest soil sample.analyzed at the site. The vertical extent of
soil contamination has not been determined- Groundwater samples collected from Monitoring
Well #1 (MW1) on March 29, 1999 evidenced contamination (prior to this MW's destruction in
1999). MWi was screened from 7 to 17 feet bsg. Groundwater contaminant concentrations in
the source area at this depth have not been confirmed. Further investigation to determine the
vertical extent of soil and water contamination is necessary.
Submit a work plan to define the vertical extent of soil and water contamination at this site to
PHS/EHD by February 14, 2000. It may be necessary to install a replacement MW in the source
area to confirm groundwater contaminant concentrations.
Continue quarterly monitoring for all contaminants at this site except Halogenated Volatile
Organic Compounds. Tabulate all Oxygenate analytical sample results along with BTEX and
TPH results and present the information in the next QMR.
Notify PHS/EHD 48 hours prior to sampling events. Contact Carol Oz, REHS; at (209) 468-
3440 if you have further questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Carol Oz, Senior REHS Margare Lagorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
cc: RWQCB, Central Valley Region-Marty Hartzell
Wright Environmental Services, Inc.-John Lynch
P
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
I.
