Soil contamination has been determined to be bounded by B-4, and B-5
and to extend north of MW-1. Groundwater at this site is usually encountered at a depth of 14
feet. The report estimates that there is 130 yards of contaminated soil. Overexcavation has been
proposed as the methodology to remediate this soil.
The groundwater data suggests the presence of a plume beneath the site. MW-1, B-3, and B-5
are within the plume. Groundwater samples from B-I and B-4 were not submitted for analysis
during this investigation. Evidence indicates that B-1 is within the plume however the evidence
for the existence of the plume in the area of B-4 is inconclusive.
A detection limit of 200 ppb was used in the TPH-g analysis of the December 19, 1994
groundwater samples from the monitoring wells. This is four times the 50 ppb detection limit
recommended in the Tri-Regional Guidelines for this analyte. The presence of TPH-g in the area
of MW-3 and MW-2 is inconclusive at this time.
The proper detection limits were used in the groundwater analyses of water samples from the
monitoring wells for Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes (BTEX). Analysis of ground
water from MW-2 and MW-3 is non detectable (ND) for BTEX indicating a zero line for the
plume. MWA showes high levels of these constituents and is therefore within the plume.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
