The three monitoring wells were installed to
surround the former tank pit area. Previous fieldwork performed at this site indicates
that the main concentration of soil and groundwater contamination is in the former tank
pit area. Analytical results of the collected water samples were non-detect (ND) for all
constituents analyzed for, with the exception of 140 parts per billion (ppb) of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) in MW-2, which is the down-gradient well.
PHS/EHD has the following recommendations: Another round of groundwater monitoring
should be performed to confirm the ND results; Existing soil data should be used to
prepare a mass balance calculation to estimate the residual contamination in the former
tank pit area. Following this, evaluation may be made as to the potential threat to
ground water quality posed by this site, and/or the need for further corrective action.
If you have any question or comments, please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS
Director, Environmental Health Division
L CA,
Lori Duncan, REHS Margard Lagorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor, Unit IV
cc: Mark List, CVRWQCB
Joe Ramage, Ramage Environmental
A Division of San Joaquin County Heaith Care Services
