2.0 SCOPE OF WORK The project scope of work was designed to define the lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil J 9 and to quantify and delineate the extent of any impact to groundwater beneath the site To achieve these project objectives, Ramage Environmental completed the following two tasks 1 Planning and Permitting 2 Push-Point Soil and Groundwater Grab Sampling and Analysis A discussion of these tasks and component subtasks follows 21 Planning and Permitting The planning and permitting task included a preliminary site inspection, preparation of a health and safety plan, acquisition of permits from PHS/EHD and the City of Tracy, acquisition of an access agreement with the neighboring property owner, and a routine clearance for underground utilities 2 1 1 Preliminary Site Inspection On November 18 and December 16, 1997, Ramage Environmental performed preliminary site inspections to gather the information necessary to carry out the fieldwork During the preliminary site inspections, Ramage Environmental toured the site to evaluate work constraints, sketch a scaled site pian and mark the soil boring locations for utility clearance 2 1.2 Health and Safety Prior to initiating fieldwork, Ramage Environmental prepared a site-specific health and safety plan in accordance with 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan included safety procedures for work to be performed, chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and a preferred medical emergency location The health and safety plan is included as Appendix A 2 1 3 Permits and Utility Clearance To perform the scope of work, three drilling permits were obtained from PHSIEHD (Permit Nos 14466, 14467 and 14468) One drilling permit was required for the County of San Joaquin Lparcel, one drilling permit was required for the City of Tracy right-of-way and one permit was �, 5
