2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The project scope of work was designed to define the lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil <br /> J 9 <br /> and to quantify and delineate the extent of any impact to groundwater beneath the site To <br /> achieve these project objectives, Ramage Environmental completed the following two tasks <br /> 1 Planning and Permitting <br /> 2 Push-Point Soil and Groundwater Grab Sampling and Analysis <br /> A discussion of these tasks and component subtasks follows <br /> 21 Planning and Permitting <br /> The planning and permitting task included a preliminary site inspection, preparation of a health <br /> and safety plan, acquisition of permits from PHS/EHD and the City of Tracy, acquisition of an <br /> access agreement with the neighboring property owner, and a routine clearance for underground <br /> utilities <br /> 2 1 1 Preliminary Site Inspection <br /> On November 18 and December 16, 1997, Ramage Environmental performed preliminary site <br /> inspections to gather the information necessary to carry out the fieldwork During the preliminary <br /> site inspections, Ramage Environmental toured the site to evaluate work constraints, sketch a <br /> scaled site pian and mark the soil boring locations for utility clearance <br /> 2 1.2 Health and Safety <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork, Ramage Environmental prepared a site-specific health and safety <br /> plan in accordance with 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan included safety <br /> procedures for work to be performed, chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and a <br /> preferred medical emergency location The health and safety plan is included as Appendix A <br /> 2 1 3 Permits and Utility Clearance <br /> To perform the scope of work, three drilling permits were obtained from PHSIEHD (Permit Nos <br /> 14466, 14467 and 14468) One drilling permit was required for the County of San Joaquin <br /> Lparcel, one drilling permit was required for the City of Tracy right-of-way and one permit was <br />�, 5 <br />
