Additional groundwater monitoring and soil sampling will be necessary prior <br /> to PHS/EHD evaluating the site for closure certification. <br /> GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION <br /> Groundwater remediation was initiated May 1986 and consisted of product removal, <br /> groundwater extraction and air stripper treatment. Since mechanical breakdown, which <br /> occurred in October 1991, the system has not been in operation. <br /> The monitoring report summarized the groundwater sampling results for samples collected <br /> monthly (January 22, February 26, and April 2, 1993) from domestic wells located as 8968 <br /> Thornton Road, 9036 Thornton Road, 9172 Thornton Road, 9140 Connie Ave, 9156 Connie <br /> Ave, and 1912 Waudman Ave. Groundwater samples were also collected on April 2, 1993 <br /> from monitoring wells. Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination was not detected, above the <br /> laboratory's reporting limits, in samples collected during the first quarter 1993. <br /> During 1992, groundwater contamination was detected in the samples collected from <br /> domestic wells located at 9172 Thornton Road and 9156 Connie Ave. <br /> Groundwater samples should continue to be collected monthly from the domestic wells <br /> located at 9172 Thornton Road and 9156 Connie Ave. Groundwater samples may be <br /> collected quarterly, instead of monthly, from the domestic wells located at 8968 Thornton <br /> Road, 9036 Thornton Road, 9140 Connie Ave and 1912 Waudman Ave. <br /> A DMMOn of%an jgaquin County Hcaith(:are 1,tmces <br />
