9110 Thornton Road Page 3
A statement was included in the closure report, "In a discussion between a Groundwater
Technology representative and Michael Infurna of the SJPHS, it was agreed that Soil Boring
H could be omitted from the closure investigation because a sufficient number of soil borings
were being drilled." In fact, PHS/EHD requested that SB(H) not be drilled at that time due
to site conditions which were present, 2 to 3 feet of standing water in the area.
Additional soil confirmation sampling will be required to verify that the full extent of soil
contamination has been remediated. A comprehensive summary of the soil investigation
results should be submitted by August 16, 1993 with a work plan to complete soil
confirmation sampling.
If you have any questions, comments, or wish to schedule a sampling inspection, please
contact Mary Meays, Senior RENS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337. i
Iogi Khanna, M.D. P.H.
Health Officer
i
e A.
