November 22, 1988 THE
SOUTHLAND Y
CORPORATION
San Joaquin County Dept. of Env. Health - I
c/o Ms. Diane Hinson C'
1ty
P.O. Box 2009 5
Stockton, Ca 95201
Re: 7-Eleven Property ##20680
49'TO--Thornton Road
- P Stockton, Ca
Dear Ms. Hinson:
I am enclosing the latest project activity summary for the
above mentioned location. Since the report was published
Southland has directed Groundwater Technology to provide
a work plan which will include installation gf addit '
round water m torin wells. Southland has already authorized
t e installation of an ORS Catalytic Scavenger. When installed,
vapor extraction capabilities at the site will be increased
from the current level of 100 CFM to 300 CFM and a number of
additional extraction points will be connected. GTI is
currently attempting to permit the unit with the appropriate
local agencies. Any assistance on your part which might make
installation of this equipment become a reality would be
appreciated. Our goal is to have the unit in and operating
by mid December.
As to the additional work plan, we will provide it to you and
the Regional Water Quality Control Board as soon as it is received
by our office.
On July 21, 1988 I sent a letter to you (copy enclosed) requesting
a reduced domestic well sampling frequency and that two (2)
of the domestic wells not be sampled further. I requested that
Southland discontinue providing bottled water service to five
(5) area residences. To date, I have not received a response
from you. I would appreciate a phone call or note as soon as
it is convenient.
I have an additional request in the sampling frequency of our
ground water monitoring wells (non-domestic) . The current
sampling frequency is every two weeks ; I request that visual
observations and water level measurements continue to occur every
two weeks. I request that samples be collected for laboratory
analysis every two months. The air stripper influent effluent
would continue to be sampled every two weeks as required by our
City of Stockton discharge permit.
SOUTHLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES/ LOCATION 2987
5820 STONERIDGE MALL ROAD /SUITE 310/P.O.
