David Brent
California Regional Water
Quality Control Board
3443 Routier Road
Sacramento, CA 95816
RE: 7-Eleven Store
2243-20680
9110 Thornton Road
Stockton, CA
Dear David:
Please find enclosed the most recent status report for the
period February 3, 1987 through July 29, 1987.
We have instructed Ground Water Technology to begin
implementing the recommendations outlined, with the exception
of another upgradient monitoring well from MW-14. The reason
for this postponement is because all the information
generated thus far indicates groundwater flow to be in the
southeast direction. One of our concerns has been the closed
service station on Connie & Thornton. The tanks are still
there, although they are not being used. The quality of the
tanks and soil has yet to be determined as I understand from
Laurie Cotulla, San Joaquin Department of Environmental
Health.
It would seem that this closed station is very slow to comply
with AB1362. If there is a problem, it 's possible that MW-14
and MW-11 could be affected depending on the severity.
Ground Water Technology tells me that their field people
indicate the presence of a degraded gasoline smell in MW-14.
We ask that you give us an opinion as to how to proceed on
placement or not of this additional well.
Additionally, we would like to get the upgradient bottled
water customers off of bottled water if the current sampling
and previous samples support this concept. If the numbers
look good, we will ask you and Laurie to make a decision. If
your decision is to allow them to go off bottled water , we
ask that you notify the residents.
7-Eleven Food Stores / Division 2299
5820 Stoneridge Mall Road /Suite 310 / P.O.
