(GTI) at the 7-Eleven Store No. <br /> y _ 20680, located at 9110 Thornton Road in Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1) . As shown on the Site Plan (Figure 2) , the store is <br /> situated on the northeast corner of Thornton Road and waudman <br /> Avenue ;In a mixed commercial and residential area. This report <br /> covers the period from September 30, 1988 through January 5, <br /> 1989. <br /> € BACKGROUND <br /> i.. <br /> 1In April 1986, GTI was retained by Southland Corporation to <br /> conduct a subsurface investigation of a suspected unleaded- <br /> gasoline release at the above-mentioned location. Subsequent to <br /> the initial investigation, which found subsurface contamination, <br /> a recovery/treatment system was installed to address the <br /> Ecr dissolved and free-product phases of groundwater contamination. <br /> I , A soil-vent system was later installed to treat the adsorbed- <br /> phase of contamination in the vadose zone soils.
