I I
E
' Project Quarterly Update Report July 30, 1991
9110 Thornton Road, Stockton, California Page 6
According to National Weather Service local climatological data for the Stockton area, below-
normal annual precipitation has been recorded for the past five years However, in 1982 and
1983, prior to the drought period, annual precipitation was almost twice normal Therefore, the
' magnitude of the decline in the groundwater-table elevation may be in response to the prolonged
drought conditions occurring after an abnormally-elevated groundwater level at the beginning of the
' monitoring period
During this reporting period, the following groundwater-monitoring wells could not be monitored on
' the specified dates as the decline in water level has caused them to go dry
• Wells MW-3, MW-4, MW-5 and MW-10 on April 29, 1991
' Wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-10 and PW-2 on May 27, 1991
• Wells MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-10 and PW-2 on June 24,1991
' Wells MW-1, MW-8 and MW-9 had sufficient water to be detected for monitoring of water levels,
however, the total volume was insufficient for sample collection purposes on May 22 (i e , the
wells either went dry after purging or did not recharge with sufficient water to allow for sample
collection) Additionally, monitoring wells MW-6 and MW-12 are no longer in service and
' monitoring wells MW-11 and MW-14 were not monitored or sampled at Southland's direction The
well completion data and current status of the monitoring wells at the site are summarized on
' Table 1
' The Poteniometric Surface Maps for April, May and June 1991 (Figures 4, 5 and 6) represent the
interpreted groundwater-table elevations beneath the site for each of the last three months of this
I reporting period The regional groundwater-gradient direction remains to the east as previously
reported The gradient magnitude was found to be approximately 0 002 foot-per-foot (ft/ft) for
April, May and June respectively
During this reporting period, no petroleum product odors or separate-phase hydrocarbons were
' found in any of the monitoring wells or pumping wells
-1 1011 GROUNDWATER
171-1 TECHNOLOGY, INC
I
