EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> 1 <br /> Vapor Extraction Technology, Inc (VET) was retained by The Southland Corporation <br /> in October of 1989 to provide remediation services at the 7-ELEVEN Store at 9110 <br /> IThornton Road in Stockton, California The soils and groundwater at the site were <br /> contaminated with gasoline as a result of previous product line leakage between the <br /> pump island and the underground storage tanks <br /> I <br /> The work performed since the initial startup of the VES operation includes, source <br /> testing of the VES, operation of the VES for thirteen months with weekly monitoring, <br /> change-outs of the spent activated carbon as needed, and monthly reporting to the <br />' San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District (SJCAPCD) as required in the permit <br /> The system has received a complete Permit to Operate from the SJCAPCD issued in <br />' March 1990 <br /> The VES installation was completed and began operating January 5, 1990 The <br /> system was operated nearly continuously (except for power outages and for <br /> Igroundwater sampling events) until January 29, 1991 when the system was shut down <br /> following complete remediation of the soil and groundwater Over 3,800 pounds of <br /> gasoline as vapor has been extracted from the soils and shallow groundwater by the <br /> Isystem in the thirteen months of operation <br /> This work has been performed as part of the VET proposal dated October 23, 1989 <br /> in accordance with Southland Corporation's Work Order #CAN-20680-7 dated October <br /> 25, 1989 <br /> VAPOR EXTRACTION TECHNOLOGY, INC <br />
