I
I
SITE CLOSURE WORK PLAN
' SOUTHLAND CORPORATION
7-ELEVEN PROPERTY #20680
' 9110 THORNTON ROAD
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
MARCH 1991
I
INTRODUCTION
Groundwater Technology, Inc is submitting this Work Plan on behalf of The Southland
' Corporation (Southland) to propose a scope of work for achieving site closure at the 7-Eleven property
located at 9110 Thornton Road in Stockton, California (Figure 1) The proposed scope of work presents
' a phased approach wherein the frequency of data collection (through site sampling and monitoring) will
gradually be reduced and eventually terminated, based on the site conditions Contingency measures
' for reactivation of the sod-vent and/or the hydraulic-control systems have been included to ensure that
human health and the environment are protected, should site data reveal that reactivation is warranted
' The proposed Closure Work Plan is based on the achievements of the site remediation program
and the data base of soil and groundwater data developed over the course of the project. A summary
' of the site assessment and remediation activities performed at the site is therefore presented In the Site
Background Section along with an overview of the well monitoring and sampling results and the sod
' sampling results The Site Background Section is followed by a presentation of the proposed closure
approach The Work Plan concludes with a description of the work steps involved and a report closure
' section
1
1
1
C`a' GROUNDWATER
TECHNOLOGY, INC
