Project Quarterly Update Report February 21, 1992
Southland, 9110 Thornton Road, Stockton, California Page 5
site The one exception to the general water-level decline was the data from MW-9, which reflected
' a mounding of the groundwater surface between November 1988 and April 1989 because of a
leaking water pipe at the rear of the 7-Eleven Store This leaking water pipe was repaired and the
mounding condition was corrected
According to the National Weather Service local climate data for the Stockton area, below-normal
' annual precipitation has been recorded for the past five years However, in 1982 and 1983, before
the current drought period, annual precipitation was almost twice normal Therefore, the magnitude
' of the decline In the groundwater-table elevation may be in response to the prolonged drought
conditions occurring after an abnormally-elevated groundwater level at the beginning of the
monitoring period
During this reporting period, the following groundwater monitoring wells could not be monitored on
' the specified dates because they were dry
r Wells MW-2, MW-3, MWS, MW-5, MW-9, MW-10 and PW-2 on October 30, 1991
Wells MW-2, MW-3, MWS, MW-5, MW-10 and PW-2 on November 26, 1991
m Wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-8, MW-9, MW-10, and PW-2 on December 23,
1991
Additionally, monitoring wells MW-6 and MW-12 are no longer In service and monitoring wells MWA 1
' and MW-14 were not monitored or sampled at Southland's direction The well completion data and
current status of the monitoring wells at the site are summarized on Table 3
The potentiometric surface maps for October, November, and December 1991 (Figures 4, 5 and 6)
represent the Interpreted groundwater elevations beneath the site for each of the last three months
of this reporting period The regional groundwater-gradient direction remains to the east as
previously reported The gradient magnitude was approximately 0 002 feet-per-feet (ft/ft) for
' October 1991 and December 1991, and 0 003 ft/ft for November 1991
During this reporting period, no petroleum product odors or separate-phase hydrocarbons were
found in any of the monitoring wells or pumping wells
GROUNDWATER
' TECHNOLOGY,INC
